This painting is of Moriah, and the flora motif for this piece is the Icelandic white poppy. Poppies traditionally stand for imagination, and I chose the Icelandic poppy for its almost cartoonish, youthful look . Moriah is currently a sophomore at the Maryland Institute College of Art, and astounds me daily with the seemingly endless breadth of her imagination. In addition to the species of poppy, I tried to go with a more delicate color scheme in this piece to emphasize both youth and imagination.
